Delivered by Wigan Training Limited, Hawkley Hall High School will be hosting Fire Marshall training courses. Delivered over one day, the course will cover the following - Fire legislation; The basic chemistry of fire and its differing classes; Firefighting procedures; Causes of fires and their prevention; Emergency lighting; Fixed firefighting installations; Evacuation assembly point and fire drills; Fire alarms; Fire hazards; Routine fire safety inspections and maintaining a fire log; Risk assessment awareness and Extinguisher recognition and use (theory and practical).

Fire Marshall Training

£100Aimed at Headteachers, School Leaders, Business Managers, I.T Managers and Site Managers, the training looks at examples of disruption, such as Fire, Cyber-attack, Extreme weather, Supply chain failure & Losing key employees, providing delegates with an understanding of what business continuity is.

This course covers all six elements of the BCM Lifecycle and is based on global good practice (as described in the Business Continuity Institute’s Good Practice Guidelines).
Emergency Planning09.00-14.3018.06.18£100This one day course covers various aspects of planning for emergencies in schools, including: School Emergency Management Planning Team, Critical Incident Management: Flood, fire, explosion, bad weather, terrorism etc, School evacuation,
Grab bag contents,Communications, Staff and student welfare, Having a plan B (or even C). Delegates are actively encouraged to bring their school’s Emergency and Critical Incidents Plans with them, as there will be an opportunity to review your plans and identify strengths and weaknesses on the day.

Delivered by Wigan Training Limited, Hawkley Hall High School will be hosting Manual Handling Training courses. The course will cover the following; the process of manual handling in the workplace; Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause them; Manual handling assessment and control options; Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 – amended 2002. Successful completion of the course will prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the development of safer methods and tasks, in co-operation with their managers and supervisors. The qualification is not intended to train delegates to carry out manual handling risk assessments.
