Course Information

During your training year you will receive outstanding professional development sessions provided by staff working in a National Teaching School and across our family of alliance schools. This research based training ensures that you have an effective understanding of teaching and learning so that you can make a real difference in your own classrooms. You will also have the opportunity to continue to develop your own subject specific knowledge by linking this to the wider curriculum.

On our School Direct Course you will have the opportunity to work in two contrasting placement schools. This means that by the end of the year you will be fully equipped with the skills needed to work in any school. You will have the understanding needed to continue your professional development, foster your own passion for learning and be happy and successful in your teaching career.

When you start your teacher training course, you will be allocated your own subject mentor. These mentors are highly trained, outstanding teachers that will provide you with personalised coaching and support. In addition to this you will receive added support from your professional mentor. The mentors are here to make sure that your training is as good as it can be and to help you grow and develop as a professional. Alongside your mentors in school, Kingsbridge has an excellent team of professional consultants who are linked to your training placement and work with you on a one-to-one basis supporting you in all aspects of your training.
